Privacy Policy — Tessera

Last updated: October 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how FirstCom Studio ("we", "us") handles information when you use the puzzle app Tessera (com.firstcom.tessera) on iOS and Android.

1. No account, no server

Tessera does not ask you to create an account and does not operate a server of its own. We never receive your name, e-mail address, or any other information that identifies you. The app reaches beyond your device only through the services described below: ads and Firebase (sections 3 and 4), your platform's cloud backup and game service (section 5), and puzzle downloads (section 6). Versus over Bluetooth stays between nearby devices (section 7).

2. Data stored on your device

The app keeps its records on your device, in the app's local storage (tessera.save and a play-history database):

This data is not sent to us. Apart from the backup copy described in section 5, it stays on your device, and deleting the app deletes it.

3. Advertising

Tessera is free and shows ads served by Google AdMob — a full-screen (interstitial) ad from time to time when a puzzle ends, never during one, and an optional rewarded video when you ask for a hint. If no ad is available, the hint is given anyway. Undo never shows an ad. To serve and measure ads, Google's SDK collects data such as your device's advertising identifier, device and OS information, IP address, ad interaction events, and the SDK's own diagnostic data (crash logs and performance data). This collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

4. Crash reporting and usage analytics

To find and fix crashes and to understand how the app is used (for example, how many people install it, where they stop, and whether they come back), Tessera includes two Google Firebase services. We do not use either to identify you.

This data is processed by Google under the Firebase privacy and security terms and Google's Privacy Policy. The play history stored on your device (section 2) is not part of it.

5. Cloud backup and ranking

6. Puzzle downloads

New pictures and puzzle packs are downloaded from our page on GitHub Pages (kgbvsfbi.github.io). These are plain file downloads that carry no identifier from the app. As with any web request, the host (GitHub) receives your IP address and may log it under the GitHub Privacy Statement; we do not receive these logs.

7. Versus over Bluetooth

Versus lets up to four nearby players race on the same puzzle over Bluetooth. Devices connect directly to each other; no internet connection or server is involved. During a match they exchange only your device's model name (for example "iPhone"), the puzzle being played, your progress percentage and your finish time. Each device keeps the result in its own play history (section 2). The Bluetooth permission is used for nothing else, and on Android the app declares that it does not use Bluetooth scanning to determine location.

8. What we do not do

9. Children's Privacy

Tessera is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, or delete data held about you. Data stored by the app lives on your device and is removed when you delete the app; its backup copy lives in your iCloud or Google account and can be removed there. Leaderboard entries are managed in Game Center or Google Play Games. For data held by Google in connection with advertising, crash reporting, or analytics, see My Ad Center and the device settings above. For anything else, contact us at the address below.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
